I started my career in the North East, getting a Business and Finance degree with Newcastle University and I have been an accountant and auditor for over 17 years. In this time I have done all types of work such as Sole Trader, Limited Company Accounts, LLP’s, Vat Returns, Managements Accounts and Auditing.
I moved to Manchester to continue my career and qualifications in 1997 and was fortunate to work with some accountants and auditors which complemented my studies. This gave me a good underpinning knowledge which enables me to help and advise my clients so that they can get the most from their business.
With as many years bookkeeping experience in industrial and commercial environments as in practice, this ‘front line” point of view has never left my working ethos.
Whilst AAT and ICB qualifications along with constant study continue to provide a firm basis for my time in practice, I believe my earlier career gives me an edge because I fully appreciate the bookkeeping needs of each client as an individual business.
When I am working on behalf of my client, my approach is total care, concern and priority. I become one of their team.
Following a long and successful career in the construction industry, the opportunity for a change of direction presented itself over 20 years ago and my journey from trainee bookkeeper to senior accounting technician began.
Starting with the same practice I am still associated with today, I began my training, working with and mentored by accountants and bookkeepers each with their own exclusive experience.
During this time I have achieved ICB qualifications and now have my own extensive experience based on this, the very best of foundations.
Having had the personal experience of this start to finish process, I now oversee our in house training program for our junior staff members.
